You see, we tend to buy from those we know, like, and trust.
You wouldn't buy a diamond bracelet from a guy in an alley - instead, we go to the jewelry store because we know the name, we like the way they present themselves, and trust them to sell legitimate goods.


But that's not enough. In today's onslaught of advertising, we must treat our prospects and customers using the 'friendly neighbour effect'.
Rather than always 'pitching', we have to be kind, approachable, helpful, transparent, and use permission in order to earn someone's business (and keep it for years to come).

We have to become the Friendly Neighbour next door...

Prospects must know you exist!
Show up in business directories, on Google & Google Maps, have a strong social media presence, create engaging content, and be remembered.

Be there for your neighbour.

Once they know you exist and you can offer a solution to their problem(s), you must be found quickly. Show up where they're searching - at the right place and time.

Be accessible to your neighbour, whenever they need you most.

We've all done it... we've all looked at (and read) reviews before deciding if we can trust a product, service, or brand to deliver the solution we need. Gain trust and credibility with reviews and testimonials.

Be kind and generous with you neighbour - treat them with respect.

Once a prospect has set their intent on purchasing from you, ensure they can do so quickly, easily, and without friction. Make it easy for them to buy from you.

Ensure your neighbour gets a 'good deal' and doesn't feel abandoned.

Acquiring a customer should never be a cost. The way to ensure this is to turn customers into life-long supporters. Wowing the right people will encourage them to promote your brand to friends and family.

Have your neighbour introduce you to others in the neighbourhood.
